Quickstart

From a new account to an agent answering through the API.

1. Create an agent

Dashboard → Agents → Create agent. Give it a name and instructions, keep the environment on Test, and create it. Copy its id (agt_…).

2. Try it in the playground

On the agent's page, open Playground and send a message. That's a real run: the model, your instructions, metered usage. You'll see the steps and cost beside the reply.

3. Create an API key

API keys → Create API key. Choose Test and the Run agents permission (or Full access). Copy the key when it appears; it's shown once.

.env (on your server)
GASKET_API_KEY=gsk_test_...
GASKET_AGENT_ID=agt_...

4. Call the agent

curl https://usegasket.xyz/api/v1/agents/agt_.../runs \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $GASKET_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"message": "Where is my order 4821?"}'

The response is the run: status completed with output.text, plus the steps and usage.

5. Watch it in the dashboard

Requests shows your call within seconds, with the request and response bodies, latency and cost. Click it to inspect the run.
